Who you are agreeing with

Bindery is operated by Shishir Khanal, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Using the site means accepting what is on this page. If you do not accept it, please do not use the site.

The documents are yours

Every PDF you generate belongs to you, completely and permanently. There is no watermark, no download limit, no licence to buy and no attribution required. Use them commercially, edit them, send them to clients. We claim nothing over them, and because they are built in your browser we never receive a copy in the first place.

What we ask of you

• Do not use Bindery to make documents that are fraudulent, that impersonate a business you have no right to represent, or that are part of a scheme to deceive someone.
• Do not try to break, overload or reverse the site’s security, and do not scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people.
• Do not resell access to the tools as though they were yours. Linking to them, recommending them, or using them inside your own business is entirely welcome.

This is not legal, accounting or tax advice

This matters more than anything else here. A document made on Bindery is a starting point, not a guarantee of compliance. Invoicing rules differ by country, province and state, and they change. What a valid tax invoice must contain where you live is a question for your accountant or your tax authority, not for a web page.

In particular, tax rates are never selected for you. You type both the label and the rate, deliberately, because a tool that guesses a rate for you is a tool that will eventually guess wrong on a document you have already sent.

No warranty

Bindery is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that a generated document will be accepted by any particular recipient, bank, court or tax authority. You are responsible for checking a document before you send it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Bindery and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the site — including lost profit, lost revenue, lost data or a payment that did not arrive. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the tools, which is zero.

Nothing here tries to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Your data

What happens to what you type is set out on the privacy page, including why the ads on a tool page cannot read your document. That page is part of these terms.

Advertising

Bindery is free because it carries advertising, and some links to other companies’ products may earn us a commission. Anything that earns us money is marked as such where it appears. An ad or a paid link is never an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what an advertiser sells you.

Availability and changes

Tools may be added, changed or withdrawn. We may update these terms; when we do, the date at the top changes. Continuing to use the site after that means accepting the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
