What should a rent receipt show?

Who paid, who received it, which property, what period the rent covers, how much, how it was paid, and the date. All of that has a field here, including the property address, which prints in the detail column — it is the single thing a rent receipt gets dug out to prove.

How do I show which month the rent is for?

Put it on the line item: 'Rent for August 2026' with the amount. If you are receipting several months at once, use one line each so the record stays readable years later.

Can I record a part payment?

Yes. Leave the amount received blank and the receipt reads as paid in full. Enter a smaller figure and it prints the total, what was received and the balance still owing, and the PAID mark becomes PART PAID. A rent receipt that says paid in full when it was not is the kind of document that comes back to bite.

Why is it a smaller page than the invoice?

Because a receipt is a short document and printing it on a full US Letter page makes it read as a stunted invoice. This one comes out half-letter, 5.5 by 8.5 inches, which is what a receipt book is and which prints two to a sheet with no waste.

Is this valid proof of rent for a tax claim?

A rent receipt is a commercial document rather than a regulated form, so in most places what matters is that it shows the tenant, the landlord, the property, the period and the amount. There are fields for all of it. What your own tax authority requires is worth a five-minute check — this is not tax advice.

Do I have to make an account?

No. The receipt is built inside your browser on your own device, and the PDF is created there too. Nothing you type is uploaded to us, because there is nothing on our side to receive it.
